 My almost 3 year old has loved it for years. Great for getting them up and moving!

This was a surprisingly long board book! I was quite pleased with how many different actions it offered, including funny ones like flap your elbows and sleeping at the end. I got it for my 1 year old daughter because I thought it would be a good intro to body parts and movement, which it is. I was happily surprised that my 4 year old loves to play along, too. It's a really fun book and I highly recommend it, especially for the low price!

My great-granddaughter can barely stay on her little feet while listening to this book! Bless her heart, she tries so hard to dance, but can't quite make it. She can get a leg up....but when she tries to shake it, down she goes! At first she cried when she fell down, but after a little loving and a little coaching, she thinks its so funny that she often falls on purpose, and laughs and laughs. Of course, everyone in the room laughs too, so I would gladly say that SHAKE A LEG is being greatly enjoyed by everyone in the family!

This is a great book for our library story time! It helps get the pre-story wiggles out.

My nephew loves reenacting this book as it is read to him. It was part of his birthday gifts for his 1st birthday that was Elmo themed. The book came in pristine condition, the shipping was on time and we could not be happier with this purchase.

A classy book about a classy man. The book is loaded with great pictures and insightful information about the life and career of Tony Bennett. As a lifelong fan, I looked forward to getting this. I was not disappointed.

As has been the case with the majority of these "cocktail table" books from T/L and others within the past 15 years or so, this book is a BEAUTIFUL book in fact and appearance. Great photos...despite that a few are "reverse negative" prints.The huge downfall of this book (as the others) is the vast amount of inaccurate information in the description of the photos and the printed words within the book. Does anyone FACT CHECK these books before publishing them?

Guorong Wu is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Wu received his PhD degree from the Department of Computer Science in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2007. After graduation, he worked for Pixelworks and joined University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009. Dr. Wu’s research aims to develop computational tools for biomedical imaging analysis and computer assisted diagnosis. He is interested in medical image processing, machine learning and pattern recognition. He has published more than 100 papers in the international journals and conferences. Dr. Wu is actively in the development of medical image processing software to facilitate the scientific research on neuroscience and radiology therapy.Dinggang Shen is a Professor of Radiology, Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC), Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). He is currently directing the Center for Image Informatics and Analysis, the Image Display, Enhancement, and Analysis (IDEA) Lab in the Department of Radiology, and also the medical image analysis core in the BRIC. He was a tenure-track assistant professor in the University of Pennsylvanian (UPenn), and a faculty member in the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Shen’s research interests include medical image analysis, computer vision, and pattern recognition. He has published more than 700 papers in the international journals and conference proceedings. This way I can cook something fresh and tasty every day, and get the most value out of it.None of these recipes have disappointed me and those dishes I’ve prepared before in my pressure cooker don’t even come close to this recipe book as far as my taste buds are concerned.

It's better to make sure whether everything has been cooked to perfection since some of the big meat chunks can stay raw even after a stewing them for half an hour. Some of the new recipes I can't wait to try are the Persimmon Cake, Peanut Butter Cake, Baked Cantaloupe. Spring season is coming, and I would fairly love to have this kind of cookbook in my kitchen and spend as little time on cooking as it is possible.

Handy US to metric conversion charts as well.I bought this book along with the other Foodi Cookbook title "One-Pot Cookbook". If you are only going to purchase one, I might suggest that other one instead, but both are worth having.

I didn't know what to expect as this was a free book when I downloaded it, but it was very entertaining and had a overall good feel and a very happy ending. The entire story is told by the children, one in particular, and focuses on the children trying to restore the family fortune after they had fallen on bad times. Each child had an idea of how to find treasure or make money and one at a time, the children work together to test out each idea. The stories told really highlight the innocence of children and the importance of allowing children to explore and lead with their imagination, something that I think is lost today with trying to prep children so early for adulthood and responsibility. It was a fun read and the ending put a smile on my face, and I'll admit I did laugh out loud after a few of their antics. Good read!

Anyone can walk to the bathroom at night because they have convinced themselves that no one is in the house. But the child who walks stiffly down the hallway when he is convinced that there is a robber in the house, he is the braver.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would have liked to see the ending changed to be more of a recognition of the true fortunes they possessed in their imagination and family. I laughed at parts, nearly cried at others.

I find it odd that a book should be faulted because a reader doesn't understand all the references. For me as a child, puzzling out what phrases like "Let dogs delight" meant was fun -- even when I never did figure it out, or didn't figure it out until years later when I came upon the source. That was fun, too: to be reading something else or traveling in England and suddenly get the reference -- and think "So THAT's what she meant!"But the references are a minor detail.This was one of my favorite books as a child and I now think it is one of the greatest books ever written for children: funny, insightful, well-written, inspiring -- and unexpectedly moving in places, too. I still laugh out loud when I read it, and I still admire the children enormously: for their imaginations, resourcefulness, kindness to each other, loyalty, and, perhaps most of all, for their very English courage -- the way they deal with what drearier people would complain about.Philosophically, I very much object to the idea that everything in a book should be easy to understand and known already to the readers. Surely one of the joys of reading is to be exposed to new ideas, people, places -- to learn?Another great writer for children, PL Travers, the author of MARY POPPINS, writes about the enormous pleasure and stimulation she (as a child) derived from trying to puzzle out the meanings of phrases in adults' conversation, such as "she lived on her capital." (She phrases it better than I do here -- but she as a child imagined this aunt as a sort of ogress, nibbling on her own fingers and toes during an afternoon nap.)It's probably true that E.Nesbit's writing is not for everyone-- but what is? I for one think it's great that children still love her -- and despite all the efforts that have been made to dumb their books and everything else down,that they still enjoy puzzling out (or simply accept and move on from) what they don't understand at a first glance.Many authors -- Noel Streatfield and CS Lewis to name two more - have paid tribute to E.Nesbit. Noel Coward kept copies of her books by her bed. She still makes me laugh out loud, and very few authors from any era can do that.

Suffice it to say that there is no need for the reader to be an expert in NLP or Body Language to get the full benefit from this book. Every item in this exhaustive list is thoroughly explained and without reference to arcane terminology. The list is extensive and very useful insofar as it starts with the head and works its way down to the feet. This is one of those rare books that is both fascinating and helpful. Buy it and you'll find yourself turning back to it again and again.

I thought this was great and straight to the point. However, this is definitely not something you need to read as your very first book on nonverbal communication because you won't get it and won't really learn because this book is not meant to break things down for you. But if you are already familiar with the subject and especially if you have read the authors other book ("what every body is saying") this is a PERFECT because you already know the authors style and trail of thought.I found this to be a great reference AFTER reading the other book where the author really breaks things down into details for anybody to understand. This book is made as a series of notes and it is a perfect quick reference. Lastly, I'd like to say that I think it is pathetic for people to expect to turn genuious after reading one book no matter how great it is that's just ridiculous. This guys has like a lifetime of training and hardwork put into the subject and u seriously expect to be just as good in one day? Hmmm good luck with that ;)

I work with young teenagers so this is a great thing to keep on my kindle. Makes for a great way to test how observant we are.

For people, seriously interested in body language, this book provides an extensive (close to complete) list of tells and expressions needed to understand and successfully evaluate the body speech. Only little disappointment was with reading about facial (micro and longer) expressions in the chapters around head as I think Paul Ekman does provide more accurate information in this area.

Think of this book as a list of flash cards to make and then study - I’m already finding it worthwhile for honing my focus. Enjoy!

Anything that he writes about is so very interesting and useful. I have several of his books. Although I cannot remember every little detail like he does, I have been able to spot many body languages that have, in the past, simply gone right over my head. I'm happy he has shared his expertise with others because it can really help a person to recognize the ques. It simply adds another level of awareness to your life. Would definitely recommend.

I am totally disappointed in this latest kindle of Mr. Navarro's. He writes a little over 200 signs to 'spot a liar.' But I am guessing if you take out "soothing indicators' and other redundant visuals he mentions you probably have like 30. This is a list only. Nothing else. Even he writes in the end that detection is 50-50. He does not go into examples or even addresses current issues. Example, what if the client believes their own lie. Example, Lindsay Lohan was caught on tape stealing allegedly. Yet she wanted to take a lie detector test cause she doesn't believe she stole. Their is no statement analysis. Really, a bummer. Ironic, since Navarro in 'what everybody is saying' explained to us the central park jogger case how lie detection is impossible. It appears Navarro has become a kindle papermill pushing out poorly assembled writings. I took very little away from this. I got so much out of his original book. Seriously, maybe if he put his relationship kindle and all his kindles together and cut the redundant crap 'soothing' I would be excited and it might be worth it. But to slap together a bunch of signs without life like examples just really cheapens Navarr's legendary work

This is one of the finest books i have read in Security. It gives details on some of the best security principles every major industries must follow to achieve data protection and user authentication/authorization for their web applications. I am a security professional so I could finish this book in a few days but for a first timer or new to the world of security this will be a great book to get an idea on how things work in enterprises.

Book goes thru various security concepts, history and approaches, has javaScript/Node.JS/NPM code for reference. If your looking for a good detailed overview of web security for web development, then this is the boo for you.

Not what I expected. The book is more of an example for implementing OAuth and OpenID Connect with Node and Express. If you are looking for an in-depth explanation of OAuth or OpenId, then this is the wrong book.The book starts with a very high level overview of security concepts. This is rather basic, and most of it I already knew (and I am not a security expert).Then it has a closer look at OAuth and OpenID Connect. But the explanation is just 5 pages, and one page is a diagram. The diagram is worse than the one you find in Wikipedia (there should be 3 actors). The rest is mostly code (which I was not interested in).At that point I stopped reading, as it wasn't what I was looking for.

Before there was ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Bladerunner’, before there was even ‘1984’, there was 'Brave New World'. It is astonishing that Aldous Huxley wrote this tale of technological dystopia in 1932. The social elements from the story are similar to those in Orwell and Kafka and others, namely a society of obedient sheep run by the state and benevolent dictators through brainwashing and groupthink. But what’s striking about the novel is how it so astutely anticipates a society taken over by benevolent technocrats rather than politicians, a scenario that appears increasingly likely in the age of AI and genetic engineering. Huxley came from an illustrious scientific family with social connections. His grandfather was Thomas Henry Huxley, Darwin’s close friend, publicist and “bulldog”, whose famous smackdown of Bishop Samuel Wilberforce has been relished by rationalists fighting against religious faith ever since. His brother was Julian Huxley, a famous biologist who among other accomplishments wrote a marvelous tome on everything that was then known about biology with H. G. Wells. Steeped in scientific as well as social discourse, possessing a deep knowledge of medical and other scientific research, Aldous was in an ideal position to write a far-reaching novel.This he duly did. The basic premise of the novel sounds eerily prescient. Sometime in the near future, society has been regimented into a caste system where people are genetically engineered by the state in large state-run reproductive farms. Anticipating ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, only a select few women and men are capable of providing fertile eggs and sperm for this careful social engineering. The higher castes are strong, intelligent and charismatic. The lower castes are turgid, obedient and physically weak. They don’t begrudge those from the upper castes because their genetic engineering has largely removed their propensity toward jealousy and violence. Most notably, because reproduction is now the responsibility of the state, there is no longer a concept of a family, of a father or mother. There is knowledge of these concepts, but it’s regarded as archaic history from a past era and is met with revulsion.How is this population kept under control? Not shockingly at all, through sex, drugs and rock and roll. Promiscuity is encouraged from childhood onwards and is simply a way of life, and everyone sleeps with everyone else, again without feeling jealousy or resentment (it was this depiction of promiscuity that led the book to be banned in India in the 60s). They flood their bodies with a drug called soma whenever they feel any kind of negative emotion welling up inside and party like there’s no end. They are brainwashed into believing the virtues of these and other interventions by the state through subliminal messages played when they are sleeping; such unconscious brainwashing goes all the way back to their birth. People do die, but out of sight, and when they are still looking young and attractive. Death is little more than a nuisance, a slight distraction from youth, beauty and fun.Like Neo from ‘The Matrix’, one particular citizen of this society named Bernard Marx starts feeling that there is more to the world than would be apparent from this state of induced bliss. On a tryst with a particularly attractive member of his caste in an Indian reservation in New Mexico, he comes across a man referred to as the savage. The savage is the product of an illegitimate encounter (back when there were parents) between a member of a lower caste and the Director of Hatcheries who oversees all the controlled reproduction. He has grown up without any of the enlightened instruments of the New World, but his mother has kept a copy of Shakespeare with her so he knows all of Shakespeare by heart and frequently quotes it. Marx brings the savage back to his society. The rest of the book describes the savage’s reaction to this supposed utopia and its ultimately tragic consequences. Ultimately he concludes that it’s better to have free will and feel occasionally unhappy, resentful and angry than live in a society where free will is squelched and the population is kept bathed in an induced state of artificial happiness.The vision of technological control in the novel is sweeping and frighteningly prescient. There is the brainwashing and complacent submission to the status quo that everyone undergoes which is similar to the messages provided in modern times by TV, social media and the 24-hour news cycle. There are the chemical and genetic interventions made by the state right in the embryonic stage to make sure that the embryos grow up with desired physical or mental advantages or deficiencies. These kinds of interventions are the exact kind feared by those wary of CRISPR and other genetic editing technologies. Finally, keeping the population preoccupied, entertained and away from critical thinking through sex and promiscuity is a particularly potent form of societal control that has been appreciated well by Victoria’s Secret, and that will not end with developments in virtual reality.In some sense, Huxley completely anticipates the social problems engendered by the technological takeover of human jobs by robots and AI. Once human beings are left with nothing to do, how does the state ensure that they are prevented from becoming bored and restless and causing all kinds of trouble? In his book “Homo Deus”, Yuval Harari asks the same questions and concludes that a technocratic society will come up with distractions like virtual reality video games, new psychoactive drugs and novel forms of sexual entertainment that will keep the vast majority of unemployed from becoming bored and potentially hostile. I do not know whether Harari read Huxley, but I do feel more frightened by Huxley than by Harari. One reason I feel more frightened is because of what he leaves out; the book was published in 1932, so it omits any discussion of nuclear weapons which were invented ten years later. The combination of nuclear weapons with limitless societal control through technology makes for a particularly combustible mix.The biggest prediction of Huxley’s dystopia, and one distinctly different from that made by Orwell or Kafka, is that instead of a socialist state, people’s minds are much more likely to be controlled in the near future by the leaders of technology companies like Google and Facebook who have formed an unholy nexus with the government. With their social media alerts and Fitbits and maps, the tech companies are increasingly telling us how to live our lives and distracting us from free thinking. Instead of communist regimes like the Soviet Union forcibly trampling on individual choice and liberty, we are already gently but willingly ceding our choices, privacy and liberties to machines and algorithms developed by these companies. And just like the state in Huxley and Orwell’s works, the leaders of these corporations will tell us why it’s in our best interests to let technology control our lives and freedom, when all the while it would really be in their best interests to tell us this. Our capitulation to their inventions will look helpful and voluntary and will feel pleasurable and even noble, but it will be no less complete than the capitulation of every individual in “Brave New World” or “1984”. The only question is, will there be any savages left among us to tell us how foolishly we are behaving?

Do NOT bother with the Kindle version. Specifically the one with the picture of the eggs and blood. There IS a kindle version that is the correct text (with the title in red banner) listed for $10+. But the eggs and blood version is completely different, simplified, dumbed down version of the physical book. The paperback format as pictured on the product page is what I have for my physical copy and they are vastly different. I read the kindle version while at work on my computer during slow periods and then came home and attempted to read the book version where I left off, only to find that chapters didn't line up, there were entire pages of conversation missing towards the end of the book between Mustapha Mond and John, the Savage. ENTIRE. PAGES. Very upsetting to learn this. It shouldn't be on the same product page listed as a kindle version. It's a completely different version.DO NOT PURCHASE THE KINDLE VERSION.

That we are being propelled in the direction of Brave New World is obvious. But not less obvious is the fact that we can, if we so desire, refuse to co-operate with the blind forces that are compelling us. As Mr. William Whyte has shown in his remarkable book, The Organization Man, a new Social Ethic is replacing our traditional ethical system – the system in which the individual is primary. The key words in this Social Ethic are “adjustment,” “adaptation,” “socially oriented behavior,” “belongingness,” “acquisition of social skills,” “team work,” “group living,” “group loyalty,” “group dynamics,” “group thinking,” “group creativity.” Its basic assumption is that the social whole has greater worth and significant than its individual parts, that inborn biological differences should be sacrificed to cultural uniformity, that the rights of the collective take precedence over what the eighteenth century called the Rights of Man.”[1]Furthermore, as Huxley notes, the:“…ideal man is the man who displays “dynamic conformity” (delicious phrase!) and an intense loyalty to the group, an unflagging desire to subordinate himself, to belong.”[2]Talk about a conformity crisis! And it all starts in youth, through the public schooling system.This conformity crisis in public schooling has been spoken about at length by John Taylor Gatto in his books, Dumbing Us Down, A Different Kind Of Teacher and Weapons Of Mass Instruction.In Dumbing Us Down – The Hidden Curriculum Of Compulsory Schooling, Gatto mentions the following explosive remarks:“Mass education cannot work to produce a fair society because its daily practice is practice in rigged competition, suppression and intimidation. The schools we’ve allowed to develop can’t work to teach nonmaterial values, the values which give meaning to everyone’s life, rich or poor, because the structure of schooling is held together by a Byzantine tapestry of reward and threat, of carrots and sticks. Official favor, grades, and other trinkets of subordination have no connection with education; they are the paraphernalia of servitude, not of freedom.”[3]“Schools are intended to produce, through the application of formulas, formulaic human beings whose behavior can be predicted and controlled.”[4]“…schools and schooling are increasingly irrelevant to the great enterprises of the planet. No one believes anymore that scientists are trained in science classes or politicians in civics classes or poets in English classes. The truth is that schools don’t really teach anything except how to obey orders.”[5]Gatto minces no words. Additionally, and arguably more importantly, the second book, Brave New World Revisited is absolutely mind bending.Brave New World Revisited includes intriguing information at length that supplements droves of added substance for the reader to familiarize themselves with some of the deeper niches of everything Brave New World stands for. One could view it as a few different essays on many of the most disturbing components and trends, featured in Brave New World, which society is currently following.Topics which are discussed include conformity, the collectivization of society, the attack on individuals, brainwashing, propaganda, social engineering, distractions within society, chemical persuasion, possible solutions and much more. Arnie is a world class guy who's patience, wisdom and character is unmatched. I met Arnie while in a Inpatient rehab center in west palm beach Florida. It allows you to see how the compulsive gamblers addiction effects the lives of those close to them first hand from the words of Arnies wife Shiela. This book has inspired me to persue a carrier in helping others, just like Arnie and myself, whos lives have been effected by gambling and who still suffer from a gambling problem. If you are suffering from this disease There IS hope and there ARE people who know what the problem gambler and there family's are going through. A lot of what Arnie Wexler has to say was like looking in a mirror. Some of his chapters did not apply. The one thing I found most helpful is I realize now why I gamble. Things Arnie said started coming back to me. My father was a mirror image of Arnie, when he was young, I idolized him, therefore gambling keeps him in my heart. Each person will take something different from this book, but every gambler will find a piece of themselves within these words. Do yourself and those you love a favor and spend sometime with this book.

Knowing Arnie Wexler personally I can see his personality coming through in this book. He's real. He speaks the language all gamblers will understand. His story is a reality check for any one suffering with this little known addiction. He tells his story with the help of his wife Shelia. I think this book would be a great starting place for someone who has a loved one who has a gambling addiction. Her story is gripping as well.I am so happy someone has written a book for gambling addiction. All the other books out there are self help and rarely has the author really suffered from the addiction and won the battle. Then to go out and help others for the remainder of his life speaks to his character. Arnie is awesome and so is this book. As a compulsive gambler, I appreciates his candor and honesty.

This book really describes what goes on in the mind of a problem gambler. If you have tried to get your family to understand why it is so hard to stop, have them read this book. It was nice that the author included his wife’s experience about what it was like to live eith a problem gambler. I have tead many books over the years abiut compulsive gambling. This book was one of the best ones.
