Fantastic! I blew through this book in less than a day. If you feel that there is more to the story of Chris and Shan’ann Watts, this is a must read. The book is peppered with excellent links that really give you a deep understanding of this story. They take you to everything from YouTube videos to photos, to the author’s extremely well put together website. The research done by this author is as vast as a reader could ever hope for. I was really anxious to find more information on this case, and take a much deeper look into the lives of the Watts family. This book (and series) is the ultimate gold mine. The style in which it is written is very lively. A much needed break from the typical true crime writer’s formula. I will buy the next book as soon as it becomes available in January! I can’t thank the author enough for his work! It is so nice to have this case/story wrapped up in such a perfect package.
Book 4 in the K9 series is a must read for those who enjoy well researched and detailed crime narratives. The author does a remarkable job of bringing to life the cold dark horror that is Chris Watts throughout the narrative but especially on the morning in the aftermath of the murders. Chris's actions are connected by Nick van der Leek's eloquent use of a timeline to reveal a motive.
I enjoy your books because I can see that you have done a tremendous amount of delving into the Matt at hand to arrive at your conclusions . I might not totally agree with some but you do give a lot of information that is rarely available in true crime books. And you are not beating around the Bush. You call a spade a spade. I find you simply delightful. You are my Columbo!
As per usual Van der Leek doesn’t disappoint. He offers some unique perspective about this tragedy and connects it to the bigger picture-for instance the big oil environment Watts was working in and how it connects to his mindset regarding the murders. Van der Leek offers us a why and it makes sense. You won’t be disappointed in this book.
