This book has been an important addition to my training toolbox. While I felt I did some handling and husbandry type conditioning when my papillon was a puppy, I have not been good keeping up with it...I didn't have any formal instruction at the time...all I did, which wasn't bad-but didn't progress in an organized way (as this book helps you do), was give her treats when I had to do her nails or brush her teeth, etc. I think, at most, she learned to tolerate grooming. She is now five and recently had an infected tooth removed. I was determined to get back on track with her cooperative care and help her love her grooming time. The first step involves helping the dog love their grooming space. My dog will now be found sitting on her grooming chair, waiting. I can do her nails, teeth and some light trimming all on my own now (I used to need my husband to hold her). I love how the book shows how to let the dog opt in for grooming...she always has a choice to leave. You will need some patience and it is recommended to have several short sessions a day...which has been easy to fit in.

Deb Jones is an amazing teacher and her newest book clearly demonstrates that. She has an uncanny ability to share her wealth of knowledge in a way that is simple and easy to follow for absolutely anybody.This book is neatly organized into clear and easy to follow steps for teaching your dog (or any critter) how to willingly participate in routine care such as bathing, brushing, nail clipping, vet visits, giving eye/ear drops, etc. If you follow the steps outlined, you and your dog will be happy for it.With Deb's book, you and your dog will have far less stress (or none at all) when it's time to clip nails or get a bath or attend to minor medical needs. A truly well written easy to read book, using positive training methods to help you teach your dog to actually enjoy husbandry chores … grooming, nail trimming, teeth brushing, vet care and the myriad of other handling necessary to care for your dog. The text is supplemented with numerous photos that make it even easier to understand, and check lists to help you along the way. I highly recommend it for all dog owners, new and experienced. Your relationship with your dog can be naught but strengthened by following through with the training.

This is the book I've been waiting for (without knowing it) since pets came into my lives decades ago. Like all normal pet owners, the vet has handed me a bottle of ear drops or eye drops and then come home to the amazing issue of actually implementing the treatment. I discovered I'm not strong enough to hold a 3 1/2 pound puppy firmly enough for forced nail trims. If they can take a blood sample from a tiger force free, surely I can do better with my dogs. What's a better way? Can it be positive and force free? Deb Jones walks through step by step. Her methods are humane and easily implemented by even the most clumsy of us. The techniques build our relationship rather than having the dog run for the bushes when I think the word "bath". The book makes checklists that I can hang by my grooming area (I love checklists!!). My dog says thanks! (and so do I).

Deb breaks down the steps necessary to having a dog willingly participate in its care. I know that my dogs and the dogs I work with will benefit from following the steps. I will be referring to this book often and definitely using it in my classes teaching young adults about caring for dogs.

Deb Jones explanations and check lists makes it easy for even the average dog guardian to create a low stress and workable situation for husbandry and vet care. She emphasises the patience needed and breaks down each step in an easy to understand way. As a soccer player I've found my self struggling to produce in the final third of the field mainly because I freeze up or take too long to decide what I want to do and in result the play goes on without me instead of me dictating the play.This book really helped me change that. The author covers so many different scenarios you may go through as well as various types to approach each one which will help build your confidence as you approach the opponents goal with or without the ball. I believe the best method to build confidence is to have many different methods to approach a single scenario and this is exactly what that book does. Not only does it inform you of the various ways to approach each scenario, it also develops and furthers your ability to decide which is the most appropriate to use.I love the description that the author provides when he's discussing the various types of ways to strike a ball and its helped me develop my own mental cues to make sure i'm on point with my warming up before a game or in training in general.The initial copy of this series of books I received as a gift but every volume since I've purchased immediately because, to be frank, i'm hooked on the authors writing style. He keeps you engaged and has a really good ability to articulate difficult topics. He makes it easy for me to picture myself performing actions, and as many professionals have said before Visualization is a key component to translating practice to in-game opportunities.I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This is the second book by Dylan Joseph and he really knows his stuff!!! Dylan Joseph truly knows his soccer skills and is able to communicate his successful training approaches with appropriate dialogue that patents, coaches, and kids can easily understand. This book highlights the importance of shooting with a better technique and finishing to score more goals than you are now. Having played soccer from childhood well into my adult years, I truly wish that I had this book years ago to transform my skillset into a phenomenal player! I would highly recommend anyone to buy this book and check out the extra information Dylan Joseph has to offer inside and on his website.

Great read and very informative on the art of finishing in soccer, a forgotten art in the United States. Excellent for coaches and players from youth to high school age players and coaches.

The book is a good resource for any soccer player looking to up their game. I not only saw immediate benefits in the shooting chapters but even just in the overall approach to ball handling that the author lays out. The book reads more like a personal trainer coaching you through a private soccer lesson than an academic debate on proper foot technique. Must have for any serious soccer player and with the bonus shooting tables as a reference the book is a no-brainer - just buy it.

I suspect most of the ladies (the author refers to them as "girls" through out the book) will be put off by the tone and the language of the book. The tips themselves were not as terrible as I expected after the six page introduction. They did not cover many of the things I would expect a good kisser to do but most of what was captured on 18 pages that these 5 tips took were okay. Since I am not a teenage boy I was disappointed - no new tricks, and many of the old tricks I expected were missing. For a target audience of the very young inexperienced males who have not kissed anyone this primer is ok, for others - keep looking.Ali Julia review

Kissing is a super informative guide with unique essential tips on how to give a super kiss, one you will be remembered for. How kissing stimulates the brain making us happier and satisfied. Physical attraction can definitely be the beginning to a relationship but it will go no where without a grade A kiss. The author has done a great job in pointing out five very important steps in achieving such an effective kiss, it will drive your partner nuts. Loved this book!

This book is great. I hope I got this earlier in my life. It could have been more helpful. It is still great to improve my confidence. This is the best business book I have read in a long time. Unlocking the Customer Value Chain proposes a novel framework for understanding the rise of tech-driven disruption across myriad industries in the last 20 years, placing a strong emphasis not on the technology itself but how it drives value for consumers.The author identifies commonalities between the way tech has changed the competitive landscape for companies as diverse as retailers, telcos, and auto manufacturers. Initially, I was surprised to learn that something insightful could be said across such a wide array of situations, but was ultimately persuaded by Teixeira's thoroughness in laying out his case. I suspect the book's framing is somewhat less valuable in a B2B context, but that is not an area I can speak to with much confidence.As someone who works in technology, the insights here will be especially valuable as I attempt to assess competitive threats to my employers's business. I think others will feel the same, and highly recommend this book.

This is my first review on amazon. I was impressed by the book review in the Economist magazine. Normally, despite a favorable review, I will often do more homework or read a kindle sample. The review in the Economist was great but the examples used in the review certainly resonated with me. The Kindle book did not disappoint. All the business professors are generally good at articulating the fundamental constructs or principles versus anecdotal stories. The book is perceptive at the underlying principles of digital disruption. Enjoyable read.

This book and the Professor’s class at HBS really helped me understand the what, where and how of creating value for customers along the value chain. So much valuable insights and such a good read for anyone interested in building successful businesses in today’s ever-changing environment.

With the assistance of Greg Piechota, Thales Teixeira wrote this book in order to explain how and why"digital disruption affects every industry, geography, and market, and it isn't going away. Rather than a single, pivotal event, disruption has become a permanent condition of modern markets. New entrants. New technologies. New investors. New business models. Companies don't disrupt, couple, decouple, and recouple. Their people do. The foundation of a business relationship is the customer's value chain. For a business to succeed, its leaders must understand how to replace a competitor's "link" within that chain with its own and then secure it against all threats.

As a tech entrepreneur schooled by Eric Reis' "The Lean Startup", I tend to think of technology as being the driving force behind the success of my business. This book taught me otherwise!Through carefully examining the customer value chain in my vertical I was able to truly discern between business model drivers, e.g. which activities I make better for the customer, how I do it, when I intersect the customer's decision making process, how much I charge, from business model enablers (data, algorithms, platforms). With this newly acquired clarity, I am better equipped to problem solve on behalf of the consumer.What is more, having to always go back to the Customer Value Chain and check my assumptions is not just illuminating, it is also truly transformative as it forces a much higher dose of empathy for my customer than I had ever had before. The book is excellent in educating you on the CVC and how decoupling drives consumer disruption. I wish I had know this behavior pattern before as it would have been helpful to understand and most importantly know the actions we needed to take to thwart or mitigate those decoupling efforts competitors are making. In the future, I'll use this knowledge to build models to disrupt my competitors by laser focusing on the CDC first, then on how to deploy the business model or technology to enable the disruption. I highly recommend!

This is the 16th book in the Union Station series by E. M. Foner. The title seemed to have worried a lot of readers with its big hint that this was in fact the last Union Station series. According to the author this is not the case but reading the book it certainly seems as if it might be.This is the second story of the third generation of humans on Union Station. Samuel and Vivian are going through their "degree" in Union Station's Open University. As part of the course they have to do an internship. The location they work with is chosen by Libby the station's Stryx librarian. Sam gets to work at the Vergalian embassy, Vivian in Drazen intelligence and a Vergallian works in the human embassy. This causes the inevitable confusion during the human colonies convention. There are rumors afoot too and Kelly tries to combat them which doesn't really help. So what is the "Last Night" of the title, well that would be a spoiler and so I won't discuss the plot any further.This has all the gentle humor of the Union Station books and the plots and sub-plots are as wryly humorous as ever. These books are a delight to read and this is no different. But, but it does feel like the last Union Station book. The human race is doing well, the aliens seem to get along well and Kelly should be retiring at some point. The series could end here and we'd all be sad but happy to have read such lovely, well-crafted books. Perhaps the series needs a crisis to allow the themes to develop.

Contrary to what the title might imply, the author has assured us that this is not the final book in the series. The main plotline of this book is the Conference of Sovereign Human Communities (CoSHC) which will be held on Union Station. These are human communities that exist on alien planets. The EarthCent organization is trying to expand the number of these communities and is hopeful they can establish one on a Grenouthian world.There are as usual a lot of other things going on. Samuel, Vivian, and the Horten Marilla all sign up for co-op paid jobs through the Open University. Also signing up is the daughter of the Vergallian ambassador. But none of them get the jobs they thought they would be getting.SBJ Fashions are after the Mage Baa to come up with another good product after the rousing success of Baa's Bags. Vivian is turning eighteen and expects a proposal of marriage from Samuel. Jeeves makes a few appearances and of course is irreverently funny.And throughout the book the rumor that the Stryx are selling Union Station comes up again and again. Although Ambassador Kelly gives little credence to this rumor, other alien ambassadors are seemingly hedging their bets. I had a guess as to who might have started this rumor (and I was right), but I was unsure of the why of it.

I started reading the Union Station series with book 3 then back filled and now have read them all in order. All of them are great books, all of them are permanently on my Kindles. You can tell from the writing the author really likes the characters. I have come to think of them almost as real people too. No real conflict, but lots of humor. One character in particular as stuck with me ever since she was introduced as the only "tragic" one - maybe that will be resolved some day - or maybe not. She;s still around though and I always look forward to updates on her.My reading of the title makes me think this may be the last one for a bit. So reading it I was feeling like I did as a teenager after starting on the Complete Sherlock Holmes and getting to the intro to "His Last Bow". Any SH fan will know exactly what I mean.Great series.

Last Night is another entertaining episode of the Union Station series. Per the usual, the backdrop is Kelly, with the help of friends and family, pulling off another diplomatic success. And also per the usual, there are romantic subplots woven through. All of the plot lines are great fun. Some things change, though. Baa’s personality continues to morph from unpleasant to likable, and Samuel, thus far a suave and unflappable young gentleman, spends most of this story off balance. The blend of old and new is just right, and I highly recommend this book along with the rest of the series.

After 15 books this latest installment is equal to the rest. Rumors fly through the station and there is no stopping, no matter how strong the denial. Kelly starts to assemble things for her "Tag sale" and the other ambassador's pile on the items. Ba has her fun and begins a new line of enchanted items.I really don't want to give too much away. The story line is strong with a convention, tag sale and those rumors all blending into a solid read.

I've really enjoyed every book in the series and this one is no exception. The whole cast makes an appearance at some point, each delightful in their own way. I love how light the books are. Pleasant without any drama, yet easily keeps my attention. Honestly I wish the real world were as simple as this fictitious one. Guess I just gotta wait for the Stryxx to open Earth.

I like this series. The characters are great and something interesting always happens.In this one there's a lot of rumors going around. And there's several funny bits as a human student ends up working for aliens and the alien for the humans.

The usual shenanigans on Union Station. A big conference, kids looking at careers, and rumors. A spin off of ship Flower promises more good stuff.
