It has lots of typos. Not written well, sometimes hard to read, very dry. Use additional resources for the exam.

You figure for this being the company that writes the IOS they teach about that they would get the commands right in the examples and explain theory in a less convoluted sense. Quite a few errors.

long winded hard too read at times

I solely used this book and some misc Googling and passed the 301 exam easily. There were a number of mistakes in screen dumps and examples, but in my mind, finding the mistakes is part of confirming you understand the material. I don't think they took away from the educational value of the book.

This book has provided me with a lot of understanding on why and when to implement a certain protocols on a network. I recommend this book for anyone who trying to figure out the results of your actions of what you are trying to accomplish and what to expect when you make changes in a networking.This book has become the glue to the puzzle pieces. My goal is not just to pass the CCNP test but to be able to explain it, design and implement it. I would suggest cross reference information to verify but like someone said on this review it can only make you a better engineer over all

The book currently has a word document 32 pages long of errata. The amount of errors I have found not listed in the errata would double the errata size. Reading this book is extremely slow and difficult knowing that it's extremely likely you are learning inaccurate information. This forces you to utilize other sources to verify everything you are reading.

One of my sons and I have been reading Ted's books for a number of years. I bought him a copy for his birthday and a copy for me to read later when I have some time... at least that was the plan. I decided to read a little bit just to get an idea of what it was about. Yeah, you know what happened. I couldn't put it down. I just finished it tonight and am now looking forward to book two. While I'm waiting I'm going to read The Way of Love. I really appreciate Ted's ability to show the story. With all the 5-star ratings I don't know if the book really needs another one, but I wanted to through my 2-cents in.

The Circle was an innovative series and one I enjoyed tremendously. It's not my favourite of Dekker's but rate it very highly.I didn't feel I needed to revisit The Circle as I can recall at the time feeling that it had perhaps gone on for a book too long, however, it was fun being transported there again and reacquainting myself with the Roush, Shatiaki, Elyonites and such.Rachelle is a blind teenager who has developed a method of 'seeing" by way of echolocation clicking. She lives in a secluded town called Eden which is separated from the rest of world. The residents believe that much of the rest of America is constantly under siege from enemy forces, however, they are safe in their isolated haven.Rachelle undergoes an operation which goes 'wrong' and this enables her to be transported in her dreams to another world. The world of The Circle.As with all Dekker stories there is a lot going on so you need to stay on the ball and there's good pace that keeps you reading. Rachelle soon discovers that she is a 'saviour' of sorts (ala Thomas of Hunter) and must find 5 seals to save the world. She gets caught up in a variety of dangerous situations in both worlds that put at risk her chances of discovering these seals. She is confronted by a number of evil types who want to stop her mission and rain down chaos of one of worlds.But what is significant about this story is the explicit messaging that underpins it. Dekker has undergone a significant awakening of his faith since finishing The Circle which he documents in his non-fiction work The Forgotten Way and the Way of Love. The key messages of these works he attempts to incorporate in this two book series. I think you will gain a greater appreciation of these messages if you read The Forgotten Way first. And if you're not a Christian you may struggle to enjoy the novel because much of the story involves exploring these key concepts of being the beloved of God. I've read a few reviews that have expressed concern for Dekker's faith, suggesting he's succumbed to New Age-thinking and/or failing to properly communicate the full message of the gospel, but having read The Forgotten Way these claims aren't true. Dekker has developed into a modern-day mystic of sorts and he writes like one.I think this story met my expectations. I kinda wish he'd left The Circle alone and perhaps created a new story world to express his revived spiritual messages and hence, in some way this is a tad deflating. I felt Rachelle was going through a similar experience as Thomas of the Hunter and that it had been done before.However, if you haven't read The Circle series you will appreciate the story world, Dekker's perspectives on good and evil and how he weaves his messages into the story.The story doesn't really end and we need to read Part 2, The Rise of the Mystics, to round it out. Perhaps an 800-page volume may have been better, however, the best suggestion might be to wait until the 2nd one comes out before reading the first. With it coming out in the next few days I'm looking forward to diving deep and finishing it off.

As usual this new Ted Decker novel did not disappoint! He draws the reader into an engaging fantasy world of good, evil and the unknown. This is a wonderful book for everyone but especially for the generations raised on science fiction and fantasy books, movies and other media. The story set in this fantasy world in fact illuminates for the reader some critical Biblical principles found in the Christian Bible. Mr. Decker has a talent for bringing them to life through the characters and situations in the story in a very powerful way. I experienced several “aha” moments when I read this book. Yes, I knew these principles but I had never experienced them in quite this way. I can’t wait for the second book in this series because I know that there is more. Thank you Ted Decker for sharing your God given gift of writing with us!

When I give this book five stars, I mean five stars. I like Ted Dekker's style of writing. His writing flows easily and is understandable. This book is action-packed, thought-provoking, and well worth the read! I love the fact that Mr. Dekker addresses the fact that so many of us are blind to how much God really loves all of us -ALL of us - whether Christians, Muslims, unbelievers, etc. But, do we truly know and understand the Extent to which God loves us and what our Identity is in Him?Mystic doesn't mean what I thought it meant, when I looked up the definition of Mystic, while reading this book.This book is very interesting and can also be filed under the genre "Syfy."It is the first of a duo, and I can't wait for the next one to come out in October 2018!

Great revised Catechism of the Catholic Church. Should be on the shelf of every Catholic!!!

Essential work if you want to understand what the Catholic church actually teaches. This book contains the necessary (imho) information for anyone who wants/needs to learn what Catholicism is all actually about. This book is divided into 4 (four) parts: profession of faith (creed), sacraments (7), life in faith, and prayer. Starting with a total explanation of the profession of faith (creed) and ends with the Lord's Prayer. Before reading this I had so many misconceptions about the Catholic church. While reading this the misconceptions disappear while the truth and beauty of the Catholic church appear.

Every Catholic who is a practicing Catholic should have one of these. And if youare not a practicing Catholic you might want to get this and ponder the book andsee if it can maybe change your life. We are talking about your soul and yourfamily's souls.....is there anything more important than that?Good luck and God Bless

The OED defines “catechism” as “An elementary treatise for instruction in the principles of the Christian religion, in the form of question and answer; such a book accepted and issued by a church as an authoritative exposition of its teaching….” This is a useful definition for understanding what kind of information can be found in the catechism.The Catechism of the Catholic Church was approved by Pope John Paul II in 1992. Obviously, the information contained in it was not new—it is based on the Bible, documents from church councils, encyclicals, previous versions of the catechism, and other Church documents that predate it by hundreds of years.The Catechism is meant to be used as a reference work. It’s organized clearly with an extensive table of contents and a glossary. I wouldn’t recommend trying to read it from cover to cover, though you certainly can if you’re of such a mind to do so.The Catechism is easy to find. It’s available for free on the Vatican website, though since I hate reading on the computer, I don’t find it more beneficial for anything save the search function. Printed copies are easily available used, new, paperback, hardcover, trade paperback, mass market paperback, e-reader, and any form you could want. As long as it says “Catechism of the Catholic Church,” it’s the right book. Be aware that theUnited States Catholic Catechism for Adults is a study supplement and does not contain the full text of the Catechism.

The Catechism is a remarkable, wonderful book. That said, if you are reading the Kindle edition cover to cover or want to look up any general chapter or topic in the table of contents, it works. However, the Catechism was specifically made to study. Each paragraph is numbered and this organization is used as a tool for finding specific teachings within larger topics very quickly. There is no way to do this in this edition--it is worthless for using to find specific citations referenced in other books. I hoped to use it as such to always have with me in a very manageable, lightweight, non-bulky format. It completely failed.

This is an excellent ten dollar investment for any Catholic, but especially for me as a theology major! The best single source on Catholic doctrine right on my Kindle. Now I don't have to lug around the large, hardcover first edition my dad bought me in high school. Not a good idea when you're dealing with Steubenville hills :) Also one of the best formated ebooks I've seen so far in my couple months as a kindle user. The cross referencing is linked (and there is a ton of cross referencing in there!) Whoever put this together for kindle really put the work into it and, for this book at least, I'm not complaining that it costs more than a paperback copy. Be careful though because the other version of the catechism on the kindle store, with the skinny white cover, put out by the "US Catholic Church" (last I checked the official name for that is the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, so that doesn't seem legit to me...), is formatted horribly and I am very glad I sampled both and compared before purchasing!

I ordered two of these - one for my husband and one for me. We were both terribly disappointed when the glue holding the binding in place broke open the very first time we opened the book. I'm going to try ordering a different paperback version. Perhaps that will have a more satisfactory binding and we'll be able to use the Catechism for many years. This is why I gave this product a two star review.

A must read for the Catholic and the non Catholic. Reading the book will help the Catholic explain the faith and help the cradle Catholic understand it like never before. For non Catholics it will answer all questions about what Catholics believe and why they do the things they do. I have read it through twice and have significantly improved my understanding of the Catholic faith. It is not the Bible but it is certainly Bible based and referenced with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit at the very center of it all.

This book is an invaluable resource for individuals who thirst learning or reinforcing the fundamentals of their faith. It reveals the answers to the questions that lead Christians and Catholics to fall astray or abandon their faith for other religious or spiritual beliefs. Population: 60 million legitimate businessmen.")The banter you love from the show translates very well to print; the mixed-media stuff, like a the gruesome illustrated gallery of "libs" and "cons," elevates jokes that wouldn't have worked on the show. There are in-jokes and deep cuts and weird references that might throw the reader who's leafing through it -- I got (I think?) most of the references and I had great fun de-tangling them.The main question is: If we end up in a "Canticle for Liebowitz" situation, and a post-apocalyptic society has to rebuild from one text, would this book save civilization? I think the answer is yes, though our mutated descendants are going to know more about the "Matrix" sequels than they need to.

Because she knew how it all ends, and it will end in Japan at the end of this year (2009). Start from the beginning and know that unlike mangas like 'One Piece' and 'Bleach', this is a tangled web of seemingly vague threads that slowly knit itself into a grand and terrible Epic that I'm biting tooth and nail for.Stupid company in America is bleeding out the volumes at a horrifically slow pace and I doubt we'll see the end till half a year or more after the series ends in Japan!

Brothers Alphonse and Edward Elric stop at Rush Alley on their way to see their old alchemy master. Rush Alley is the "Boomtown of the Broke Down," a place where the artificial limb industry took off after the last civil war. In this story, artificial limbs are called "auto-mail" and are more like cybernetic appendages. Auto-mail is hi-tech and quite common. Edward has an auto-mail arm and leg. Winry, the technician who built his appendages, is with them and is all agog over the shops and people of Rush Alley. She's clever enough that the locals want a closer look at Ed's limbs. She winds up trying to mentor with one of better auto-mailers who lives out of town, the grumpy old Dominic. Dominic's grandchild is about to be born, which is relevant because a storm washes out the bridge so he has to go by a treacherous mountain path to get the doctor. Winry, Ed, and Alphonse help with the delivery (mostly Winry), thus getting the grump to take her in. Ed and Alphonse leave her behind and finally reach their mentor. A big long flashback shows the boys' childhood and how they first met their mentor, which is an exciting story in and off itself.This volume didn't move the main plot forward but did send it deeper. Ed and Alphonse spend a lot of time thinking about what they were trying to do (raise their dead mother back to life) and have the amazing contrast of a new-born child being brought to life. They have some interesting conversations which raise the story above the jokey adventure it seems to be on the surface.Recommended, though the series is complicated enough that you can't just jump in at this point.

Unlike any other book about blockchain, it’s filled with funny, interesting stories but still let you understand what it is. Clearly explain. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to understand this technology that we all should learn sooner than later!

I keep hearing about “blockchain,” but whenever I try to learn about it, I can’t figure it out. Until now. This book really made me “feel” what blockchain is all about. Now I know that I can talk about it like an intelligent person, and it also gives me some tools for imagining how it might work in my own business. I highly recommend it.

Wow! This book beautifully clarified a subject matter that I had long ago dismissed as impossible for me to understand! And- it made it clear why it's so important to understand it. Bravo!

When cyrptocurrency prices shot up in 2017, a flood of books on blockchain and related topics hit the shelves. Some were good, most were rushed and flawed, some were near worthless. This book is in the last category and 18 months too late.One problem is the author does not understand, or at least never tries to explain, the technology. Of course there is room for books that explain implications of technology without discussing the underlying theory, but this book fails in that as well.The one aspect the author is clear about is that the blockchain is a ledger. There is lots of material on the history of ledgers, and discussions of how ledgers are useful. For example, one of his major blockchain use cases is land registry in Honduras. There's no doubt that a land ownership ledger is useful. That's precisely the 1858 idea of Robert Torrens, whose system spread rapidly throughout the world. But Torrens Title is not a blockchain in any sense. It's a centralized, unencrypted ledger maintained by the government. All the problems in Honduras could be solved by Torrens.Now there are reasons why a blockchain could be useful for Honduran land registry, but they are not discussed in the book. They cannot be, because the author has laid none of the groundwork. We might imagine that Hondurans distrustful of the government began their own public, decentralized, encrypted ledger--a blockchain--to record land ownership. They would need no permission, no one could stop them. If enough people used it voluntarily, buyers might start insisting on blockchain title, or at least examining the blockchain for possible title disputes. If so, sellers would have an incentive to obtain and defend blockchain title. If enough people did this for long enough, the blockchain could become the authoritative legal proof of land ownership.The benefits of the blockchain, as opposed to the simple ledger, is it requires no trusted central authority and no coercion. Once in place, it has strong protections against corruption. These are the things a blockchain book should discuss, not the benefits of a ledger.The author soon runs out of examples of useful ledgers, but instead of delving deeper into blockchain he starts discussing all kinds of things that are at best tangential. The cryptocurrency bitcoin uses a blockchain, so all digital currencies are topics for discussion, whether or not they use blockchains. Digital currencies are used to finance some distributed autonomous organizations, so those get chapters. Distributed autonomous organizations are pursuing some cool ideas--possibly visionary, possibly deluded--and those make fun topics.The result of this topic drift is the book resembles a random assortment of feature articles on ideas on blockchain, digital currency, cryptography, game theory and related field that could have been written anytime in the last decade. There's little unifying theme, and the articles themselves are pretty superficial.I recommend you either find a good book on blockchain that explains the technology and its possible applications, or a good book on implications of trustless pseudonymous value exchange for economics and society.

I've been doing a deep dive into blockchain for a couple of years now, and this book was a refreshing take on an enormous concept. Blockchain is becoming an integral part of business, but not yet consumer life. The author does a great job of showcasing applications for both accessibly and imaginatively, while weaving blockchain 101 throughout.First off, it's very well-written. I can't stand books where I pick apart the writing and can't get into the zone, and the author is very good. I even have a hard time reading on an airplane, and this book was a welcome addition to one of my flights.Second, I would say that this quick read would be great for nontechnical folks or beginners to blockchain who need to know what the big deal is in a short amount of time. It's also useful for folks like myself who are are tech savvy through a business or sustainability lens, but not necessarily coders.I also liked how much time he spent talking about blockchain through a sustainability lens, which I hadn't encountered in a book yet. The potential for blockchain to disrupt business, ownerships, and even how we govern ourselves was so uplifting. I wasn't expecting it, but this would also be good to read if you need a pick me up with all the sh*t that's going on in the world and/or are generally interested in sustainability.
