** Nuriel by Nikki Landis **Demons and angels are a combination that creates a unique story. This is increadibly steamy with non stop sction. The ending is even more wow worthy.** Three Arrows by Skye Mackinnon **A Cupid's apprentice mission gone wrong! This is a short yet beautiful story that is chock full of love, adventure, and heartache. I can't wait to read more!**Death's Choice by Laura Greenwood**A necromancer & assassin who hates to kill is a bit of a paradox but make for an intriguing story. This is a quick read with mystery elements and has incredible chemistry between characters. I liked that there was some unpredictability in the story. **Queenie by Helen Scott**Queenie by Helen Scott is a moving romance. At the beginning it seemed like it was starting from the middle of the series and had books before it. After reading I can say that it is a standalone RH romance where everything is explained in it's own time.** Saving Eira by Laura Greenwood **Fun twist on the descendant of Jack Frost. The story was fun, unpredictable and leaves you wanting to read the next book in the series.
I only have access to one of the stories in this set, so here is my review of it:Nurial is the daughter of Archangel Uriel. When she is born, her father makes it so her lineage is partially obscured in the record of life. Nurial grows up and is working on earning her wings as an angel. As her final assignment to gain them, she is sent to Earth to help a potential suicide along with another angel in training called Cam. They happen upon some low-rung members of the demon Legion, as well as three higher-level demons. The latter, who called themselves brothers, are attracted to Nurial and sense that she is not strictly of angel descent. Will the human be safe from suicide? Will Cam claim Nurial as his angel mate, even though his father is against it? What's up with those demon brothers? What is it about Nuriel’s mother that Uriel is trying to hide? This book has some of the common issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, but it was not overly distracting. There were, however, some odd shifts of perspective and point of view. The book was mostly from Nuriel’s perspective written in the first person. A few scenes were for the point of view one of the brother demons written in the third person. What I found really jarring were occasional scenes from Cam's perspective written in the third person. Sometimes, these sections we're right next to each other in a chapter with just a small break in between, so the shift from third person to first person was abrupt and unsettling. The book has two issues that some readers may want to be aware of. First, it does have a fair share of profanity and other crude words. Second, I would term this RH paranormal that borders on erotica (though it does have plot and backstory, which erotica often lacks). If either of those makes you uncomfortable, you’ll want to stay clear of this book.I received a free advance copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is a great collection of reverse paranormal stories. I've reviewed a few of my favorites and I'm looking forward to reading some new to me authors.Nuriel: By Nikki LandisNuriel is still learning about being an angel and is sent on a mission to save souls. Cam has got a thing for Nuriel so her arranges to be her mission partner. Loved the good vs evil and fight for souls between the angels and demons. This is a intriguing, steamy, quick read full of demons and angels and a great ending.Black Magic Voodoo: By Nikki LandisThis book has it all vampires, witches, werewolves, ghouls and more. Cassie and the guys are great characters and the story line is interesting. Looking forward to reading more episodes in the future.Saving Eira: By Laura GreenwoodEira is a descendent of Jack Frost and her only job is to make sure the frost arrives on time but this year it's late. Everything changes for Eira when she realizes her power is blocked. Rueben, Leth and Josh are Eira's fated mates and are working together to find a way to get her power back. Great writing, interesting characters, a steamy reverse harem and a great start to the Fated Seasons series.
This story is such a delicious teaser for what's to come in Joely's Aima universe.Gwen is a descendant of the original Guinevere of legend. However, the truth of her history does not match the legends we all know.We only get to see the POVs of Gwen and her Alpha, Lance, in this short story, but I'm sure we'll get to hear from the rest of her Blood in Queen Takes Avalon.Whether you're a devoted disciple of Shara Isidor or a brand new supplicant, this quickie will whet your appetite and make you crave some blood (and Blood).I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. This review is cross-posted on Goodreads.
Review for Oracle Defiant by Liza Street and Kiera BlackwoodI received an ARC of Oracle Defiant, book one of the Spellbound Sisters series (set in the same world and time as the Spellbound Souls series, which has Ariana, Slade, Quentin, Taylor, and Whitesong corporation) in exchange for an honest review.Oracle Defiant follows Sparrow, an Oracle who struggles with her powers. After her sister Wren goes missing, Sparrow is assigned shifter bodyguards. This book is definitely fast burn, a change from the Spellbound Souls series, and very hot. Not to mention, Sparrow is a firecracker, and she doesn't take s**t - but she's also not stupid, a lovely combination. I liked her guys, and I hope to get to know them better in the next book. I read it in one sitting, and I really enjoyed it. 4 stars. I will definitely read book two. Great work as always, Liza and Kiera!
